Norman Barr, WPA artist, was born in 1908 and died in NYC in 1994. He studied at the New York Academy of Art. In the late 1930's he was one of six artists chosen in a competition by ACA Galleries. He remained with the ACA Gallery until 1943 when he was inducted in the Army. Through a national competition conducted by the Pepsi-Cola Company, his work was included in a traveling exhibition 1943 through 1944 and was seen at the Metropolitan Museum, Carnegie Institute, San Francisco Museum, Los Angeles County Museum, Cleveland Museum, etc.
